Saudi Arabia launches $2bn agri-tech investment fund

Saudi Arabia has unveiled a $2 billion fund aimed at accelerating domestic food production through technology, with an early focus on controlled-environment agriculture and water-efficient growing systems.

The initiative sits squarely within the Kingdom’s broader push to localise critical supply chains and reduce exposure to global price shocks.

Targets

Vertical farming, precision irrigation, alternative proteins and post-harvest automation are named as priority verticals for co-investment.
